The big global environmental issues we need to resolve by 2030

How can YOU help?

Do you want to help save the planet but don't know where to begin? Do you wonder how your efforts will actually help?

The issue is that, for these reasons, far too few people are willing to join the environmental movement. Unfortunately, without action, the effects of pollution and climate change will only worsen, eventually destroying our planet. If that worries you, the good news is that you can do something about it.

A few small changes in your daily life can have a huge impact when multiplied by millions of us. If you want to make your daily routine more environmentally friendly, then starting today, be the change that not only helps to improve yourself but also to be able to maintain and safeguard the beauty of our nature and environment.

The following are the six ways for you to join in the green movement that can have positive impact on our environment:

USE LESS PLASTIC

The benefits of reducing plastic consumption include: Preventing pollution by lessening the amount of new raw materials used. Saves energy. Reduces greenhouse gas emissions, which contribute towards climate change.

RECYCLE

Recycling helps protect the environment Recycling reduces the need for extracting (mining, quarrying and logging), refining and processing raw materials all of which create substantial air and water pollution. As recycling saves energy it also reduces greenhouse gas emissions, which helps to tackle climate change.

USE LESS PACKAGING

As far as material conservation and resulting waste is concerned, lightweighting is a fantastic form of source reduction that can lower costs and increase production efficiencies, while reducing the volume of waste sent to landfills.

REDUCE FOOD WASTE

Reducing food waste is environmentally important as it keeps food out of landfills. It makes economic sense at the small scale, by lowering household food bills and at the large scale by reducing disposal costs for restaurants, processors and farmers.

MINIMIZE USING VEHICLES

Vehicle pollutants harm our health and contain greenhouse gases that cause climate change. Burning gasoline and diesel fuel creates harmful byproducts like nitrogen dioxide, carbon monoxide, hydrocarbons, benzene, and formaldehyde. In addition, vehicles emit carbon dioxide, the most common human-caused greenhouse gas. In order to reduce pollution from the vehicles and engines, we must drive LESS, drive WISE, and choose FUEL EFFICIENT vehicles.

PAY ATTENTION TO YOUR WATER USAGE

Using water efficiently in our operations reduces our impact on the environment and helps to maintain natural river and stream flows. This is of vital importance as climate change might bring longer and more extreme dry spells.
